Apologies if you tried to access my website recently. It crashed for the first time ever, owing to increased traffic. I’m not sure if everyone was trying to read my RHS Chelsea report – or if it was just a glitch. I like to think it was my enormous popularity, but….
Anyway, normal service has now resumed. I’ve been busy recently, writing in the day and painting in the evenings, ahead of my Open Studio on June 29/30 and July 7. I’m getting lots of stock ready, in the hope that a few people will pop by! I’m pleased with my new cards.
These are A6, so quite a generous size, and they come with an envelope. They are blank inside for your own greeting. The cost is £2.50 each, or three for £7, with UK postage at £1.50. To purchase, please email me at fionacumberpatch0@gmail.com for direct bank transfer details- or if you wish to go ahead and buy with no fuss, you can pay with Paypal using this email address.
Paintings are stacking up on the dresser. These are small, chunky canvases, inspired by garden posies. The larger one is £40, the smaller red jug is £25. Postage for each is £5.
I’ve been gardening over at mum and dad’s house where I still have a cutting patch. It was all looking very wild and overgrown so last weekend, I spent a few hours tidying it up, and I brought home a bucket full of blooms. I was so pleased with the foxgloves, they are having a very good year.
In my own garden, I’m busy trying to get everything planted out and protected. This is my work area. But my goodness, it is a battle with the slugs and snails this year. I think I have given up on zinnias, they are just getting destroyed as soon as I put them out. I have just three left and they are safe on my dresser! Marigolds have gone the same way. My strawflowers are cocooned with Slug Gone sheep wool pellets and surrounded by a beer trap moat. But the blighters are still getting through. I bought a lot of pelargoniums at the market today, as these do seem resistant. I thought salvias were, too, but even those have been eaten in the last few days.
Have a lovely weekend. Please do put my open days in your diary if you’re local. All the details can be found on the website at www.paos.org.uk with maps and directions included. I would love to see you.
