The summer has flown past, and I haven’t posted much on my blog. I will catch up shortly, but first, here’s news of an exhibition which I am taking part in this week, for five days only. Art in the Church is happening in the beautiful St Rumbald’s Church in the Northamptonshire hamlet of Stoke Doyle. It’s a collection of six artists inspired by nature in different ways, and it has been curated by printmaker Ange Mullins, who is also showing her work.
This beautiful Georgian church is set amongst fields, with wonderful views across the countryside.
Inside, light floods through the arched windows to illuminate the work. It couldn’t be a lovelier place to see pictures. And check out the incredible angels above the altar. They were brought back from Italy by a wealthy landowner.
The artists showing work are mixed media textile artist Karin Forman, printmakers Steve Cussons, Claire Morris-Wright and Ange Mullins, and mixed media artist Victoria Maddocks.
The exhibition is open daily from 10am -5pm, up to and including Sunday September 12.
It would be a lovely destination to combine with an autumn walk along the nearby bridleways and footpaths. I will be stewarding on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I have seven paintings on display, as well as five different designs of my tea towels, which are selling like hot cakes!
Please come along if you can!
